I swear she would come to meetings just to yell at us and tell us we didn't care at all about the kids ('cause, you know, we so love spending our time selling magazines and hanging crepe paper). I don't know why this happens but I HATE it. Not that The Bachelor and Rock of Love are helping any. I'd love to teach girls that being cool doesn't mean putting other people down. And being nice and adult about issues are appropriate ways to act. Getting off my soapbox now. But that's a HUGE issue for me in career world and life in general.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08524593912913005806noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7583857867652090050.post-43122371621425517982008-04-18T21:07:00.000-07:002008-04-18T21:07:00.000-07:00I love to go back and read an author's entire oeuv...I love to go back and read an author's entire oeuvre, although I have only done it with mystery authors -- Dorothy Sayers, Emma Lathen, Lillian Jackson Braun. I'm working up to rereading all of John Sandford's Prey books.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7583857867652090050.post-38633710731112981612008-04-18T20:44:00.000-07:002008-04-18T20:44:00.000-07:00The last school my children attended had some domi...The last school my children attended had some domineering and obnoxious PTA members. After conferring with my mother she stated that many PTAs do because normal and reasonable people are eventually chased away by the control freak types. Anyway, as a result I've eschewed this organization at our new school. It's a pity really, because many parents really do have their childrens' best interests at heart, but the stress drives them away. Were you using metal or wood needles? If metal ones then perhaps some of those people should not upset you... poke, poke. ;)Heidehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10409844966813816495noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7583857867652090050.post-19037357478731605172008-04-18T19:00:00.000-07:002008-04-18T19:00:00.000-07:00We used to take wine to meetings. Well, that was actually a Family Support Group for a ship and when we knew there would be dead horse beating or possible inappropriate haranguing. And it was at towards the end of the deployment and we had had enough....wait, this is a school? Whoops, no booze. Right? Remember, we used the OPAQUE water bottles...CarrieMhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13762746438827083890noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7583857867652090050.post-57587692204399188012008-04-18T14:24:00.000-07:002008-04-18T14:24:00.000-07:00It was, hands down, the most inappropriate, uncomf...It was, hands down, the most inappropriate, uncomfortable, horrifying meeting I have ever attended.Me7of11https://www.blogger.com/profile/08308410964633631731noreply@blogger.com
