It is the true story of a man who was on death row for 12 years for a crime he did not commit. I alos believe in the death penalty but this opened my eyes to the problems with our judicial system.Crazy Knitting Foolhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13694664336681979128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7583857867652090050.post-77017882698097604022007-10-14T15:46:00.000-07:002007-10-14T15:46:00.000-07:00Holy crap- Now I know I can invite you to visit my...Holy crap- Now I know I can invite you to visit my home and we'll be friends.

Life of Pi- a favorite Tao of Pooh- another

Lolita in Tehran- not so many people in my real neighborhood know what Lolita is.

I am so grateful for the virtual neighborhood!sophannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07571217197138831872noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7583857867652090050.post-48369321121392299002007-10-14T13:53:00.000-07:002007-10-14T13:53:00.000-07:00So I should totally print off your list! But I do...So I should totally print off your list! But I don't have a printer on this computer... can ya believe it??? Anyhow, I've read a fair number of the same as you, and liked them also. Got stuck in Life of Pi, but will pick it up again sometime. Here's one I didn't see on your list, "Lucky" by Alice Sebold. Basically the true story behind the fiction she wrote. It spoke to me from the new book shelf. I read what it was about (a rape), put it down, picked it up, put it down, picked it up, put it down, then said shit if it keeps telling me to pick it up I should read it even though I don't want to. I'm on the first few pages, fully picturing a place I know in Syracuse, and after a while I realize she is describing the EXACT PLACE! And what is creepier, is that I used to walk past there at all hours (like typically 3-4 am), THE SAME YEAR she was raped, and a co-worker was in fact raped elsewhere in that park on a night that I was near THE place, swimming naked in the pool. She was lucky, but I know for sure that I was luckier.knitnzuhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12847669820066745403noreply@blogger.com
